About

I was born in Minneapolis but spent the early part of my life living in Northern Minnesota on the isolated Indian Reservation of Red Lake as well as the town of Bemidji.

My path to photography was a rather unconventional as I haven’t been holding a camera since I was a child nor do I come from a family of photographers. My journey to where I am now started a few years ago when I picked up running, of all things. It started with a simple goal of running around Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis which in turn lead to me doing 5K races which lead to full marathons. When I wasn’t running a race I would often show up just to spectate while bringing along my Sony point & shoot camera. I had enjoyed taking pictures of running events so much that I thought I would try to get part time work as a course photographer, which is what lead me back to MCTC and the PhDi program.  Over the course of my time in the program my interests have expanded from initially shooting action to now shooting product and food while taking the occasional portrait.
